Absolutely over the moon that my pilot screenplay, Video Nasty, has been longlisted for the Funny Women Comedy Writing Award! Entries were judged on the basis of Concept, Plot, Character, Humour and Dialogue.
As a writer/director it can often feel like when you gain ground in one area you lose it in another so it means a lot to gain recognition for my writing after focusing so much on directing last year. Its also crazy to be long listed for a comedy award as it's something I've actively avoided writing in the past as I didn't have the confidence.
Also honoured to be recognised alongside 24 of my fellow, funny women writers. We are going to form a gang and wear bright, pink, satin jackets with our names emblazoned on them, shave our eyebrows and give each other cool nicknames. At least I know I am!
